Counselors Office

Our Schurr High School counseling department has embraced a shared leadership approach in developing a results-based, comprehensive guidance program that reaches out to all students in grades 9-12.  Our main objective is to ensure that all students have access to support for academic, career, and personal/social development.  We are following the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, which includes a guide to the following systemic areas:  foundation, management system, delivery system and accountability.  All of our school counselors are providing services in individual planning, responsive services, guidance curriculum and system support. 

The following is a list of counselors in charge of each grade level, their telephone extension, and the alphabet (based on their last name) for which they will be assigned and responsible for:

AP English Language Summer Assignment

Student planning on taking AP English Language next year, download the AP English Language Summer Assignment, and be prepared. 

AP English Lit Summer Assignment

Student planning on taking AP English Literature next semester should to the Summer Assignment.

ROP

ROP classes are available at  the beginning of each semester for students 16+.  These classes give students the opportunity to engage in career oriented classes that also count for elective credit.  Taking ROP classes is one way for students behind credits to catch up.  Classes are either 5 or 10 credits each, with both weekend and weekday classes.  Students can register for ROP classes at B-7.
