Principal's Message

2016-2017

Portrait

Dear Students, Teachers, Parents, Community Members and Friends of Schurr High School:

On behalf of our teachers and staff, welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope that 2017 has gotten off to a great start, and that this finds you rested, rejuvenated, and ready for the second semester.

Our teachers continue to collaborate and implement curriculum that is rigorous and challenging and our students continue to demonstrate their innovation, talent and intelligence on a daily basis. Schurr continues to be a High School that inspires students to find their passions and meet their college and career goals. Recently, one of our Schurr alumni announced his candidacy in Los Angeles’ congressional race, and another has become a national correspondent for CBS News. I have no doubt that our current Spartans will have exciting achievements to share in the future as well.

Our Winter Athletics are in full swing and our student athletes continue to give their best effort. I am extremely proud of our Girls’ Water Polo and Varsity Boys’ Basketball Teams. Both brought home championships in two very competitive tournaments this winter, and we eagerly look forward to an exciting and successful season in league play.

I encourage our students to continue to ask questions and seek assistance as soon as they need it. We remain committed to supporting all of our students here at Schurr as they work towards reaching their academic goals. As always, if I can be of any assistance to you, my door is always open. Wishing all of you a great 2017! Let's have a great second semester!

Kind Regards,
Francisco J. Arregui
Principal
