Principal's Message

Dear Students, Teachers, Support Staff, Parents, Families and Community Members,

Thank you for all of your unwavering support during the 2016-2017 school year. I remain honored to serve our school community as Principal and am extremely proud of the many ways in which our students have excelled this year. Together, our school community overcame many obstacles and never faltered in our commitment to providing the best possible educational experience for all Schurr High School Students.

Our teachers worked diligently this year to provide our students with a world class learning experience. Our students were encouraged to think, explain their reasoning and collaborate. They were provided with scenarios that mirrored the demands of our global society, engaged with technology and were provided with opportunities to be innovative and creative. Our Support Staff worked diligently to support students, ensure their safety and provide them with a clean school environment. I commend and thank our staff for their commitment to a student-centered school community.

Spartan Athletics had an incredible year. Our Girls’ Water Polo brought home a CIF Championship, and many of our other sports teams showed impressive growth and won Almont League Championships. Our many Student Clubs provided countless hours of community service, and provided our students with opportunities to build relationships, help others and truly make Schurr High School feel like a place where all are welcomed.

On behalf of our teachers and staff, I would like to extend my congratulations and best wishes to the 576 graduates of the Class of 2017 and their families. Our Seniors worked extremely hard this year, and will be attending universities such as: Harvard, Georgetown, Wellesley, UCLA and Berkeley. We have Seniors who will bravely enlist in the armed forces, and others who will attend Community and Trade Colleges and enter the work force. Some of our Seniors completed all of their requirements while simultaneously supporting family members, overcoming adversity and even holding down jobs. Collectively, they endured and completed all requirements necessary to earn their diplomas. We are extremely proud of our graduates and wish them the best in all of their future endeavors.

We are heavily planning for our students’ return this Fall and eagerly anticipate another successful year. On behalf of our teachers and staff, please enjoy your Summer. As always, if I can be of any further service or assistance to you, please contact me at your nearest convenience. Thank you for all that you continue to do to make Schurr High School a place where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Kind Regards,

Francisco J. Arregui
